If you prefer an overland adventure, you can choose to drive from Jakarta to Serang, the capital city of Banten. The journey takes around 2 hours via the toll road. From Serang, continue westward towards Labuan in Pandeglang Regency for another 2-hour drive. Labuan is where the main office of Ujung Kulon National Park is situated (Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan No 51). From Labuan, the road leads to Panimbang, Sumur, and Tamanjaya in approximately 2 hours. It’s worth noting that some parts of the road may be narrow and in poor condition, so drivers should exercise caution.
The Office of Ujung Kulon National Park area II Handeleum and Tamanjaya serves as the gateway to this natural wonderland. Here, visitors can purchase entrance tickets, obtain insurance coverage, and gather general information about the national park. Situated in Tamanjaya Village near the dock of Tamanjaya, this office also offers various services such as boat rentals and local guides.
